Dye Into Print

About

Dye Into Print is the premier manufacturer of wide format dye sublimated textiles. Our various technologies offer both inkjet dye sublimation onto fabric and inkjet direct to vinyl. We specialize in inkjet dye sublimation printing up to 720 DPI. Our capabilities enable us to print up to 10’ wide seamless.

Unlike silk screening that uses conventional inks and electrostatic printing that uses conventional toners, dyes are converted (sublimed) directly from a solid to a gaseous state by the application of heat, causing them to bond with the fibers of a non-organic textile like polyester. Upon cooling, the molecules revert to their solid state, but becoming one with the fabric.

RESOLUTION
• Images at least 300 dpi at 1/4 the final production size will yield a very acceptable image. Resolution is not relevant to vector files.
• Proportions of the final repro documents must be in scale to the final size.

COLOR MATCHING
• All desired colors need to be specified, either through match prints, Pantones or screen matching. EXACT COLOR MATCHES ARE NOT ALWAYS POSSIBLE. Designers and Production Managers should refer to the Pantone Process Color Imaging Guide, Solid to Process, to be sure of the closest CMYK equivalent to the specified solid color(s) desired. It is VERY IMPORTANT to include a color laser printout if the project is color critical. Seeing the contents of the art will enable us to check for any possible errors.

• Our process is based upon transferring onto white fabric. We can dye sublimate onto any color substrate we have but please be aware it is a subtractive process. Unlike screen printing, dye sublimation cannot produce light colors on inherently dark fabric.

• We currently cannot reproduce fluorescent colors.

LINKS AND EMBEDDED IMAGES
•All non-vector art (jpgs, tiffs, pngs, etc.) must be supplied with Illustrator or InDesign documents. If unavailable, color matching is not guaranteed.

FONTS
• All fonts must be outlined or rasterized.

FINISHING
• Artwork must allow for any special finishing (sleeves, grommets, etc.) without sewing through any "safe" area such as a logo or pertinent text.
• Scanned images need to be saved at an appropriate resolution of 300 dpi for continuous tone reproduction (photos and/or illustrations). A 12"x 8" Photoshop image @300 dpi, between 60 and 80MB, will yield very good results when enlarged to over 1500%.
• All files need to be saved in an editable format: Photoshop PSD, TIF, JPG & EPS and/or Illustrator AI, PDF, EPS. Only send files needed to produce the final design. Do not send unrelated files.
